Hunza

Terraced villages, forts, and a river held between high walls of rock and ice.

Autumn poplars and a braided river running through Hunza valley, with sun shafts on distant snow peaks.

Overview

Hunza sits along the Karakoram Highway in a high valley of terraces, orchards, and stone villages. Time here is usually spent between Karimabad and nearby forts, with views toward the Passu and Ghulkin side of the valley when the road and weather allow.
